Mentoring and lost traditions.

I found it interesting of how much much of the Evangelical church has last the sacramental tradition, an ancient tradition that should be pursued. Many of us too quickly try to go against the this tradition, especially because of its following in the Roman Catholic Church, resulting in the Protestant traditions letting go of it. Trying to incorporate all of these different disciplines into our church is going to be very difficult. I wonder if there how much the church is currently pursuing the integration of all of these practises.
Our group very much enjoyed the speaker and his experience as a mentor. It was great to see the results of his mentoring in Jason's life, and how much it has affected him in his walk with Christ. In my life I was never raised with the idea of having a spiritual mentor, this class was the first time I came across this practise. I also learned about the importance of closeness between a mentor and mentee, as Jason said he could just walk over to his mentor's office and talk with him. I also found it interesting about hearing about what the mentor would experience, and how he might find the mentee annoying but must persevere to help the mentee grow in Christ.
